"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are in destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31:9,10
There are many stories of the Lord's protection and power that need to be told. But today's story is the one that renewed my vision of being a mother to the motherless. To love the unlovable!!!!
Today my co-leader Jen and I were casually walking to the grocery store, when a boy came to me sadly begging for money to eat. I said "We are going to eat, come." We brought him to a Java House where he was served Banana Pancakes topped with sugar. His face lit up when the plate was served in front of him. I gave him paper and pen to draw and the smile of his face was looking into the heart of Jesus.
My heart longed to know where Benson who is 8 yrs old came from, what is his story? How is his heart? Is he even loved or held?
I asked him "Benson, where is your mother?" Sadly he replied, "Dead", then I asked "And your father?" sadly he replied by shrubbing his sholders and said, "I do not know." I asked him, "Do you live in a house?" He said, "No, I live outside."
Despite having nothing, Benson was thrilled by warm pancakes and a pen and paper to draw. He smiled at me showing me a where he wrote "Mazungu", which means white person, laughter filled the java house. I was looking at the heart of God when i gazed in Benson's eyes and smile!
My heart ached for him knowing he doesn't have arms to hold him! Through this the Lord renewed the passion with in my soul, to be a mother to the motherless and to rescue children from destitute.
Jen and I will be waking early to meet Benson in the morning for warm pancakes while speaking truth into his soul! I believe my God can save Benson's soul and through his testimony many will be saved.
Please Pray for Benson and for the dead places to come alive in all the Nations.
